Imagic IS 16x42 - Mike Alibone

      16 July 2024

The first thing I noticed was that it was very bright – surprisingly so when the high, 16x magnification coupled with the 42-mm objectives produces a low exit pupil value of only 2.6. The image is also nicely sharp and remains so to the edge of the field, where there is virtually no curvature and the chromatic aberration, though evident to some degree, is of little concern.

Imagic IS 16x42 - Jon Carter

      06 June 2024

Following a Blue Tit through a hawthorn, I switched the stabiliser on and immediately the bird, unencumbered by even the slightest shake, came into far clearer detail. So far so good. But how would the device deal with birds in flight? A Carrion Crow flapped lazily overhead. Stabiliser off, the image was not exactly pin-sharp and again showed a little aberration. But with a flick of the easily accessible button things improved significantly.
