Product Guarantees

Opticron products are of a high quality both in their performance and construction and come with a comprehensive guarantee to cover you against manufacturing defects. The length of the guarantee is detailed on the product page. The guarantee does not cover loss, theft or deliberate damage to the instrument.

You can register your product with us by phone or using the website. An online Registration Form can be found via the Help and Support Menu.  If you part with your instrument please make sure the new owner has a copy of the original proof of purchase and re-registers their ownership. Any remaining guarantee is transferred to the new owner.

Guarantee - 30 year

In the case of defects attributable to faulty processing or materials, we will assume responsibility for the labour and material costs during the first 10 years after purchase. We reserve the right to decide whether defective parts should be repaired or replaced. During the next 20 years we will assume responsibility for material costs only, charging corresponding labour costs.

Guarantee - 10 year

In the case of defects attributable to faulty processing or materials, we will assume responsibility for the labour and material costs during the first 5 years after purchase. We reserve the right to decide whether defective parts should be repaired or replaced. During the next 5 years we will assume responsibility for material costs only, charging corresponding labour costs.

Guarantee - 5 year

In the case of defects attributable to faulty processing or materials, we will assume responsibility for the labour and material costs during the first 2 years after purchase. We reserve the right to decide whether defective parts should be repaired or replaced. During the next 3 years we will assume responsibility for material costs only, charging corresponding labour costs.

Guarantee - 2 year

In the case of defects attributable to faulty processing or materials, we will assume responsibility for the labour and material costs during the first year after purchase. We reserve the right to decide whether defective parts should be repaired or replaced. During the next year we will assume responsibility for material costs only, charging corresponding labour costs.

Exclusions

  • We will accept no liability for damage caused by incorrect use, water penetration (unless the instrument is specified to be waterproof) or for any repairs or actions which have been carried out by a third party.
  • Parts such as carrying straps, rubber eyecups, rubberised coatings etc. are excluded from the guarantee.
  • We are not able to supply parts to customers to carry out repairs themselves where those parts are essential for maintaining the waterproofing of any product that is still under warranty.

Opticron product guarantees are in addition to your statutory rights under law.
