The MM3 60 GA/45 is an evolution of the travelscope concept pioneered by Opticron. Constructed from polycarbonate and lightweight alloys, the super-compact optical system creates a body just 247mm/9.7" long weighing about the same as pair of 42mm binoculars. They can be hand held for crystal clear flat field observation at magnifications below 20x but unlike binoculars deliver magnifications up to 45x for close-up accurate observations at distance.
Eyepieces MM3 Travelscopes are fully compatible with Opticron SDL, HDF & HR2/3 eyepieces. Recommended eyepieces for general observation include; 41145M HR3 16-48x Click here for more information about Opticron eyepieces
MM3 60 GA Travelscopes are supplied in body only format with integrated objective lens cover

So, for anyone considering purchasing a relatively low-cost telescope, which has enough 'muscle' to perform admirably alongside larger models, at a reasonably high magnification, while at the same time is small enough to be classed as easily portable, the MM3 could be the answer.

The dull spring of 2018 proved to be an ideal testing ground for this scope. I went into the test with the idea that this would be a good cheap option for a second (especially for travel) telescope, but came out of it thinking that it would also hold its own as a birder‘s main scope if working on a lower budget.
