Brais Palmás - July 20011

Brais Palmás

“Any binoculars facing three years of intensive use must have certain characteristics, including toughness and reliability. Binoculars facing a journey across 24 countries should be light and comfortable for the user.

But when binoculars have to be carried on a bike that will pass through 24 countries in three years, they must have many other qualities too. The Opticron Discovery 8x42 has proved to be a faithful tool even under the most adverse conditions.

After a year travelling through protected natural areas in Portugal, Spain, France and Germany, my Discovery binoculars have given me vivid images even in low light conditions. The nitrogen-filled lightweight body has helped me witness magical moments from seeing Iberian lynx in Andalusia, bearded vultures in the Pyrenees and cranes wintering in Arjuzanx.

Opticron not only offers a wide range of products that bring us closer to an ever-receding nature, but it also provides support to initiatives committed to the preservation of the environment.

Brais Palmás set off on a 3 year journey across 24 countries in June 2010. His mission is to photograph flora and fauna in as many protected areas as possible and to bring to the attention of the local and global population the need to preserve and protect nature.
